Is Temu the new Joyo

I saw an outright Klon clone on there the other day. I was going to post it here because it was both hilarious and cheap enough to be worth a gamble, but I didn't because the Temu site is a raging piece of shit, and I couldn't find the listing again after accidentally clicking away from the page.

The Temu search suggests Klin Centaur and Vlone Centaur as possibilities, but no listings come up. Just an absolute shit site.

Temu is scary. I found a couple of things worth taking a loss on and still couldn't bring myself to hit pay now.

I bought a a cheap Kmise Vintage Phase that looks nearly identical on the outside to the Temu version. The Kmise phase is pretty good. But, I’ve heard their pedals are hit or miss. Some are ok to good. Others miss the mark is what people seem to say about Kmise.

The Joyo pedals I’ve bought are very good. I think they are mostly clones. I own a Joyo AC Tone, a British Sound, US Dream and a Sweet Baby. I also own a Suhr Riot which is better than the US Dream and a Mad Professor Sweet Honey which is better than the Sweet Baby. Still, for what the Joyo pedals cost, I think they’re well worth their price.

Buying from Temu makes you feel dirty. Like “yeah I’ll probably catch something but I’m doing it anyway” dirty.

and most of the shit they sell isn’t even worth the crazy low prices. It is good for things like cheap bracelets and sunglasses. I bought a ton of bling to wear on stage. The faux leather jacket though… looks like it was made from trash bags and smells like an electrical fire.

Yeah, I am old but I am smart enough to not sign up for Temu. If the prices are too good to be true I will assume that it isn't true. I agree with @sleewell ; I have heard that they aren't quite above board.

A few yrs back I went on a cheap Chinese pedal rampage and collected around 20 of them from $15-$25 each. Bottom line was around 10% of them were decent pedals and a real bargain. The remainder missed the mark and were basically worthless junk. Best bang for the buck was the tuners. I own 2-3 of them all about the same but branded differently. They have bright easy to read displays, work just fine, and dont seem to suck tone that I can tell. ODs seem to have the best batting average, reverbs and delays not so much.

I've had one Joyo pedal for prob 10 yrs, the Tremelo, in a reg size format. It does its job just fine and is yet to break. But it cost me double what those cheap Chinese mini pedals cost.
