Just give me one reason...

I want a Tonewood Amp real bad and can't think of a single reason why I shouldn't have one. I've seen tons of videos on them and haven't tried one in person. Has anyone here tried one?

Whatever floats your boat. If you want it and can afford it, why not?

I can't see myself ever having a need for it, but it seems a unique gadget. I do feel that it would almost have to make the guitar more awkward to hold and a bit heavy. idn_smilie

Do it...do it...do it...

And write us a review.

Hi everyone - new old guy here. :)

My brother uses a Tonewood in one of his acoustic electrics. It sounds pretty good and does add a bit of volume. Quite startling the first time you hear it.

The main downside that I've noticed is the weight (way more than I thought). Also the volume boost is limited.

If neither of those bugs you then I'd say go for it. My bro loves his.

I don't care what they say, clamping - even magnetically - something to your guitar's back is definitely going to change it's sound and response.

Also, say no to wet acoustic effects.

I recently did a full setup and fret level on that guitar for him because he was thinking of selling it. I completely removed the thing expecting a big improvement in the unplugged sound, but it really wasn't obvious in any way to me. It's a custom shop grade guitar with all solid woods too. He loves it again because it's so nice to play now, so he stuck it straight back in and he's really happy.

I think the fact that it's specifically braced as an acoustic electric makes a big difference. I'm pretty sure I'd notice it on my really resonant purely acoustic guitars.

I just added a K&K Pure mini and a Tonewood amp to my Yamaha FG730S. It is the coolest, best sounding, dynamic, game changing device ever made for acoustic guitars.
I absolutely love it.
It has made me want to play more.
I played 3 hours straight after installing it and then took my guitar to work today and played for 2 more hours.
I plan to do an in depthe review eventually if I can stop playing long enough to put it into words.

It is incredible. I don't really know how else to describe it right now.
It doesn't have to be wet. It is very adjustable.
It is not cumbersome. It doesnt get in the way.
It adds a dynamic, an extra richness, to any guitar.
It is, quite frankly, brilliant and worth every penny.

But maybe that's just me...

I spoke with Tonewood amps and got the chorus beta download. It is AWESOME!
Should be released late May. If anyone wants it that owns this I will happily guide you through adding it.

I painted the house recently and my Wife was so impressed that I'd saved us three grand that she said I deserved a new guitar. In a panic to buy a guitar before she changed her mind, I did just that and forgot all about the Tonewood I was wanting so bad. so I'm currently looking for a project that will score me the Tonewood.

Been wanting one of these to goof around with for a while now. I'm lusting after the Acoustasonic as well, but this is way cheaper and can satisfy my GAS.

The reverb sounds excellent, very clear and well, "real" sounding. Better than any other digital reverb I've ever heard. I still haven't wrapped my brain around how exactly this thing works.

If you can listen to the device and try not to get drawn into this guy's hypnotic style and tuning, you can really appreciate this thing. if you're not opposed to acoustic reverb in general.

Go to 1:50 to get past the intro stuff.

DO IT!
I still love mine. There is a bit of set up involved to keep it from feeding back but once it is dialed in it stays that way forever.
Plenty of videos to walk you through the initial set up.
