Thank Satan I went punk in 1975. But being from Houston there was no getting away from Tush or La Grange

Ramones, Sex Pistols, Clash, The Damned, The Jam, all got a lot of play on radio in the UK and some in the US. The Clash in particular had hit songs in the US.

The Damned are my favorite Punk (Goth) band. I got to see them live in Phoenix, AZ during the 80's. They are currently on their "Final Damnation 50" world tour. They're coming to Denver in November this year. I need to get tickets.

(edit) Tickets acquired, The Damned, Ogden Theater, Denver, Nov 8th.

Same here 7 to 16.

76? I don’t see how it was Hotel California the album didn’t drop until December 8, 1976, and the single was New Kid in Town. The single Hotel California wasn’t released until February 1977.
Boston dropped August 25, 1976. At the time fastest selling debut album ever. You could not get away from that song for anything.

Today sure. Everything is instant. Then, everything was handle physically including the programming.

The source was claiming most played on FM Rock Radio which is difficult to prove. Hotel California was not released as a single until February '77. It reached #1 for a week, May 7, 1977 on the Billboard chart. It certainly got played to death on classic rock radio stations over the decades that followed.

I guess Dire Straits is a pretty cool rock zodiac sign for me to have been born under. But Playlist Research shows this list, which is pretty damned good.
QUEEN - We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions
VAN HALEN - Runnin' With the Devil
THE WHO - Who Are You
KANSAS - Dust in the Wind
JOURNEY - Lights
VAN HALEN - You Really Got Me
ROLLING STONES - Miss You
FOREIGNER - Hot Blooded
THE CARS - Just What I Needed
LYNYRD SKYNYRD - What's Your Name

I turned 4 in 1970. So, 13 in 1979

I’d say my favourite in that list is probably Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing

Based on the name alone, I don’t recognise Dreams, I most likely know the song to hear it, but I’d lose a challenge to hum a few bars based on the name.

In that list, and of the songs I know by name, I’d say I like Paranoid the least.

I turned 8 in 70 but, I was born in December so, I'll just go with 7 and 16.

favorite- Hotel California

least favorite- Dreams

For favorite, I would of went with something from Floyd, it's frustrating being only able to pick from got played the most.

Even more frustrating, my least favorite is on the same fucking album as Gold Dust Woman and one of the greatest songs ever, The Chain.
