The Beatles trib I am playing with up here (the one I got the Sgt. Pepper suit for) got a spate of gigs booked doing Pepper / Magical Mystery Tour material, which the Hofner visually won't work for. So I sold my Ric 330 and got this 4003s. Flatwounds and vintage knobs make it a little more McCartney-esque. The strings are low tension so the neck is settling in some but it plays and sounds really good. It's a 2017!
 
Great looking bass right there.

While I'm not an appreciator of the aesthetics of their guitars, Rickenbacker hit it our of the part with their solidbody bass. And between McCartney and Squier, we know how amazing they sound...there's that other guy with the bumpy face, he got a decent out of them too. :thu:
 
Cool. I played Matt's a bit at Heel Stock. Cool basses, but I would have to use a pick on it. That pickup is so wide
 
The hardware on Ric basses always look to me like they were designed for some kind of tank or other military equipment -- they look like they's stand up to pretty much everything short of a nuclear blast!
