I had some time to kill and went to a GC as I wanted to try out the Taylor Gold Label guitars. Specifically the 700 series. I was in the market for a guitar with a Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides. Fortunately they had them in stock for me to try. The looked great and played well but then I saw a Gibson Southern Jumbo and gave it a try. I know Gibson acoustics are not for everyone but I kept a open mind about it. I must say that the Southern Jumbo spoke to me. I started looking for a better deal online. The next day there is a offer in my inbox from a Reverb seller which I countered and asked for a setup and a set of XS strings which they accepted. The guitar arrived and it sounds great and looks great. Most important is that it still spoke to me. This guitar sounds and plays better than the custom ordered guitar I got last year. I'm a happy guy.
