Old budget guitars that age fantastically

Today I was over at an old friends house and played his early 90s Seagull S6. This thing was around $200 new back in the day. Solid cherry B&S, cedar top. This thing has aged into one of the finest guitars Ive ever played, no joke.

Those were the "serious" guitars of my teenage years. We couldn't afford a Gibson, Martin, etc., But when you moved from the starter model you got for Christmas up to a Seagull, you were legit.

I could never get over the skinny headstocks, so I never got one, but I thought they always sounded good.

I also couldn't get past the headstock, but have always been impressed with the sound for the money.

I have the Ariana (Aria) folk/classical guitar my mom bought in 1971. It sounds great and the baseball bat neck is so big that wrapping my hand around it feels like masturbating. If my fingernails didn’t keep breaking I’d be able to play it.

I think the Fender that I have has aged well. I got it from Mom in '80 it probably was $100-150 new then. It's a Fender F-15 and I still have it and play it nearly every day.
