On the Way NOW NGD Reverend Gristle 90!

Thanks all!

I’m at that stage in life where I don’t get to have NGD’s very often so this is fun.

We’ll see how it goes on tonight’s gig. The pickups are taking a little getting used to.

That’s pretty rad. I played one in a random Music Go Round a while back and seems like a fun thing. Didn’t really have an opportunity to jack with tones and the different pickup settings too much

The pickups sound great but are very different than what I'm used to. Enough output that I have to roll them back a bit on any of my Fractal presets to get a clean sound. I fully charged it last night and put the strings I normally use on it so I' trying it again this morning before I head out to gigs to see if that changed anything.

I was having this debate with a buddy of mine who is a hard core traditionalist with shapes/colors/etc. Especially on Strats and Teles.... even if it messes with your mind, the reverse headstock is actually a superior design as far as engineering goes.

The change of string lengths along with the break angle from the shortest on the high string and the longest, shallow break on the wound strings, means you don't need a pesky string tree to get proper pressure at the nut AND those break angles combined with 86ing the tree leads to superior tuning stability. :baimun:

I suppose I’d then recommend that you start playing left-handed guitars. Hendrix wasn’t a twat who bought reverse headstock strats.

Ohhhhh Shit!!! I didn’t notice this new color at Namm!!! You will dig this guitar because of the Sasquatchian proportions… I did dig that about the one I had. I just learned that I’m not really a “vintage tele sound” person. I like the look and shape but prefer teles with P90s or Humbuckers. I would probably dig the fuck out if this one. :baimun:
It’s actually an accidental color. There are only 6 in that color. The factory made a boo boo.

I have P90 guitar and they didn’t sound like I thought I eventually screwed the pole pieces down. I can’t say mine were bright but they were loud and cleaner than I wanted.

This is kind of different because of the active component of the pickups. I don't want to mess with the guitar. setup at all since it came from the factory this way and they are pretty specific about this stuff at Reverend.

I think Reverend tends to voice their pickups to be a bit hot—and I know Naylor was a collaborator on the sound of these active P90s. The Crosscut I recently picked up has the lowest output version of their railhammer humcutters and they’re noticeably beefier than my tele which is a pretty oomphy guitar. And I almost always roll a bit back on the p90s in my Rev 12 string.
