When I was 17 a friend and I made a trip from the University of Chicago to Quebec - spending a couple of weeks on the road in his powder-blue Fiat Spyder and staying in youth hostels (we were kicked out of one in Montreal, but that's a story for another day), At any rate, in Montreal we wandered into a bar and ordered a beer. It seemed to me that everyone there looked like a lumberjack. My chum got back from the bathroom, white as a sheet, and said "we have to get out of here". Turns out lumberjackoffs would have been more appropriate. Anyway, this picture is exactly what that bar looked like...
