Return of the green strat.

You are a maple fundamentalist.

Just sayin'. I think most Fenders look better with maple boards, especially Candy and the old car colours. One colour that does work well with rosewood is natural or shell pink. Natural finishes with maple boards just look kinda bland to me. SHell pink is hot either way, but a rosewood board (with clay dots!) just looks really hot.

Mary Kay white too.

Before I sold my strat, I was going to make that mod. Then I realized I just can't make a strat work for me. I have this one that covers the strat/tele thing very well.

I just put Dimarzio Area Hot T in the bridge and Area 61's in the neck and middle. The guitar just kills now.

I end up needing at least one standard version of each "food group" though and I've played strats since the beginning. I like having both a 50's style (my Tokai) and the 60's style (this '62 reissue) since they have different voices. Right now all of my paying gigs are of the "strat with a bridge humbucker" variety but I'm hoping to do some other stuff next year...

I'm really not so much about the looks. It's nice to have a good looking instrument but I need specific sounds.

Why can't you have both? No-one asks a girl out because of her personality. You do it because you find her attractive. THen you find out if she has a "good personality."

Usually when I buy an instrument in a store it's something I've picked up,. played and it had a quality that spoke to me. Sometimes it's not the most attractive package but its the one I buy. If I need a pretty guitar for a picture or a video I've got plenty of those already...

Three competent nannies. If Mrs. W. doesn't have a say, which nanny would you pick?

:embarrassed:

lol. A friend of mine just hired a live in nanny and asked his wife to choose the ugliest one just for that reason

ahh, what kind of strat is it? I thought they were all routed for hum sing hum after they killed the swimming pool route.

1985 or so 1962 reissue. Probably one of the earliest guitars made in Corona.
