Tell me what you think of my new tune.

It's just a scratch take. Very crude. I'd really like to have a Cello for one or maybe even both of the solos.

To me it sounds like Tom Cochrane meets John Mayer with a touch of Garth Brooks. That's what I think after listening though I don't particularly like any of them except for Tom Cochrane.

Contained within are those chords I asked about this morning.

What say ye?

I used my Boss BR532 digital recorder with:
SM57 for the vocals
Acoustic guitar: Gibson J180EC
Leads: Squier '51 (neck pickup 1st solo, Bridge pickup 2nd solo)
Bass: Washburn acoustic AB-20 (just for the roots)

Very nice. You could kick my ass on the geetar any old day of the week brotha!

You've got a very "Don Henley" thing going on there... Which is a good thing. :thu:

I love it. Extremely cool. :thu:

*edit* I just played a duet with you.

I like the soft feeling you delivered on your guitar playing, it was as if your fingers were softly dancing on the fretboard. Lots of emotion was felt there.

You have a very pleasant "singing" voice, but maybe you should upped the volume a bit.

:)liked it:)

Sunday morning feeling..I really enjoyed that! :thu:..I like your voice and what you did with the G F# Bm E...that part is a real "hook" for me. Great job!

Damn, Jeff. That's fantastic. I really enjoyed it.

If you lived closer, it would be cool to record with you sometime.

Thanks for the props guys. :) So appreciated. I hadn't created a song in probably 6 years and that thing kinda just came to me all at once.

That thing went from concept to what you heard in the course of 10 hours. I was quite "song fatigued" by the time I posted it and couldn't hardly hear it any more if you know what I mean.

My singer has a Pro Tools system at his house. Maybe he'll be interested in helping me make something that keeps. That little Boss unit is cool but it's a sonofabitch to get a keeper out of it. Shit it could have used some De-essing too.:embarrassed:

Very nice! I just got a chance to check it out (I've been building shelves today and ran out of parts :embarrassed:).

Some of the chord changes and melody, and something about your voice, reminds me of Smurfco... in a good way.

That is really nice. I can hear some John Pryne in there too. Very cool stuff. And yeah, for a quick scratch track, it sounds great.
