Noah Kahan Asks Concertgoers Not To Sh*t In Their Seats

I'm going to skip Noah Kahan concerts from now on, not that I've ever been to one of his concerts.

He's big in the indie scene. I've heard a few of his songs. I don't like him well enough to buy a ticket to see him. But apparently he has some very dedicated fans.

He’s kind of a mid-tier NPR “indie” songwriter doing the dude version of sad girl music (e.g., Boygenius) but less well. That “Stick Season” song was everywhere for a while and bro is on the second line of every festival poster right below the acts in the biggest font.

I’m not much for sad sack confessional songwriting where dudes burnish their image as “fuck me tragic” sensitive but manly bros. Maybe it’s because I’m old enough to have seen Ryan Adams and Conor Oberst do this act and turn out how they turned out. Noah Kahan seems a little too close to millennial stomp clap and Fleet Foxes whatnot for my liking. I’m also catching some pro-jam band sympathies—not musically but dude seems like he hackey sacks.
