On Friday I went to physical therapy and stopped at Ocean State Job Lots on the way home to pick up a shoe rack that I ordered. It was a Crazy Deal; I got a gift card for the same amount as the item. In the evening I went to the open mic and played two songs from the new CD that I am working on. In practicing one of them, I realized that I recorded it in the wrong key. No wonder I was unhappy with the mix.

Saturday, Carol and I went to the craft store where we have items for sale. We were sharing a cube, but we both are making larger items and then booth was feeling crowded. I decided to get a separate cube. It was nice as I was able to put in a variety of things. We then stopped by Ocean State to get a toaster, using my gift card. I put the shoe rack together and loaded it with a variety of Birkenstocks.

Sunday I went to church, then to the grocery store. In the evening I went to the studio to re-record Part of the Plan in the proper key. I also added a second guitar to another song. I then got them mixed. That makes seven songs done and more to record.

Completely normal weekend, although I was more productive than usual and got lots of ToDos done. My golf game was not very sharp but it was nice weather to be out in, so enjoyed it anyway. Played plenty of guitar, watched the Masters and some baseball.

Now it's Monday and I have a mean case of the Monday Don't Wanna Be At Work blues. *harmonica wails*

Got in a few bike rides. Took Mrs. T to the Galveston county fair Saturday. I haven't been to one since 1978 when I showed a hog. Plenty of freeburty wraparound shades and girls in Daisy Duke shorts. We made the mistake of eating a food truck funnel cake and some popcorn shrimp. My stomach felt like it was full of rocks the following 8 hours.

Well was able to work from home Friday, so that was good. Saturday spent most of the day working on a new song. I just got a used matched set of Rode M5 small diaphragm condenser microphones to record acoustic in stereo. Had fun using those on this new endeavor. Took the wife out for an Italian dinner. Sunday a couple hours of work and a couple chores, but otherwise kept working on the track.

Saturday - early morning chores and errands...went shopping for a black suit jacket... afternoon domestic pursuits...NASCAR and The Masters...supercross...

Sunday - woke up feeling like shit... morning puttering, afternoon Masters, bed early...

Friday: bass player told us he wasn't available and scuttled practice.
Saturday: I read a bit, graded a bit, drove around. Like Gary, I also visited Ocean State Job Lots, but I wasn't looking for anything to hold Birkenstocks.
Sunday: went to NYC to see the Harlem Renaissance show at the Met. Walked through Central Park. Pizza in the Village and then back home.

Friday - last day of holiday cottage. Finished off the prosecco and made a good dent in the Bathtub gin. Watched a couple episodes of Twisted Metal.

Saturday - packed and headed home. Collected my guitars from MILs house. 6 months since I've picked one up! Went to the pub for a few drinks with Mrs JBJ to watch the Grand National. Her horse placed and won £8, mine is destined for the glue factory. Came home ordered curry when arrived 3 hours later so we didn't bother eating it. Tried to finish Twisted Metal but we can't get the last 2 episodes on my fire stick :embarrassed:

Sunday: caught up with some friends to watch the football. Terrible result, has likely knackered our chances of winning the league. Came home and took the previous owners sky dish down and started removing the cabling before it started pouring. Nice long bath, had Saturday's curry then crashed early

Nice weekend to round off the Easter holidays

Busy season is getting underway in earnest. Had a big high stress corporate gig on Thursday, so was happy to take Friday off for a bit of practice and hanging out with family. Saturday morning we played a nice low stress farmer’s market, followed by more time with the fam. Sunday we hosted a jam session at a restaurant in Fairfax. It was the fourth one of these we’ve done, and it’s starting to pick up steam with repeat and new musicians regularly showing up and a nice little monthly scene starting to take form.
