Well, the Candy Apple Red USA Jaguar from Adorama is here... and well... hmmm... well I don't know..

It's a very beautiful guitar, finely crafted and it sounds really nice. The revised switching system is cool and the pickups sound really good. And it matches my CAR Jazzmaster as a bonus.

But... well... it's uh a little bit heavy. Well actually it's very heavy. It's 9 lbs 3 oz on my little digital scale. That is the same weight as my five-string Precision Bass! Wow, goodness.

I have not taken the plastic off the pickguard and I'm going to think on it for a few days because it does sound pretty nice and the neck feels very good. But sitting here playing it I could feel it cutting the circulation off to my leg. What a beefy boy!

9.3 is heavy, but let’s not exaggerate. Still anything above 8.5 is heftier than I’d want to live with unless the sound and playability was all-time, all-time.

I once had a northern ash cheapo JM copy with P90s that sounded great. It was a total pig at close to 13.5lbs. My leg would go numb under it while playing.

Jags and JMs are usually heavier than Strats and Teles but even so this just feels really heavy.

This is a deeper metallic red, more maroon like. The red that I'm excreting is bright red, like fire engine red.
