What’s your big weekend plans?

I made good on my threat to restring guitars. Did 3 of them and then spent the rest of the weekend in a frenzy to play them all a lot and take advantage of that sweet new-strings sound.

First came the PRS - first time I have restrung this one. The easy-access tailpiece made it a pleasure.

Then it was the Collings’ turn. First time for this guitar too.

Finally, the ASAT. The bridge hardware on this one, unlike the PRS, is a beach to deal with and can only be managed with the help of a pair of needle-nose pliers. It does have locking tuners though so at least that end of the procedure is easy.

I have a grocery delivery coming on Saturday. Big plans.

Safeway fubar'd my order and sent a massive bone in pork shoulder rather than the smaller boneless one ordered (intended for carnitas). so I made due and chopped off a slab for carnitas then rubbed the rest for a future pulled pork cook and froze it in a food saver bag.

Sunday I made carnitas and some really banging chili. Carnitas burritos Sunday night and the first round of chili is tonight. Cornbread just came out of the oven a few minutes ago for tonights dinner.

Sunday was dry and sunny so I got out on a motorcycle for a while.
