What are you guys drinking tonight?

Had some pretty good Boardwalk Black Rye IPA at Karl Strauss Brewing Company.
Also sampled their Imperial Stout (too sweet) and their Pintail Pale, which was nice.

Bought a bottle of Knob Creek Smoked Maple Bourbon (sounds like a fret board) and High West Double Rye today. The review of the Knob Creek mentioned how the maple was mild and a small part of the flavor compared to the Jim Beam maple. Bullshit! I can only imagine that the Jim Beam must taste like pure syrup. The Knob Creek Smoked Maple is seriously sweet and heavily flavored. It is interesting, but needs water or ice to knock down the sweetness.

So after a half dram of that, I moved to the High West Double Rye after cleansing the palette with pretzels. Mmmmmmm, this is what rye should taste like. Plenty of vanilla up front, and the spicy rye kicks in mid mouth and stays through the finish. Each sip was better then the one before it. I think it will get even better now that is has been opened.

Started with a vanilla bourbon Porter that I brewed and finishing with a Belgian Black IPA from Sierra Nevada's beer camp collection.

Never tried it... have no idea what I'm in for

Well, it's not tonight yet, but I'm drinking Don Julio anejo.

It's barely noon, actually... :embarrassed:

I deserve it, this is the first weekend I've been able to relax in a while.

Congrats, jaxn! I've been working my way through Revolution's offerings. I can walk to the brewery from my house, so I do that. Great stuff, if you can find it. I have no idea what their distribution looks like.

Thanks, guys. Is it bad to say it feels like a lot longer? :embarrassed:

(We've been together for over 12 years now.)
