WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO......RIGHT NOW......Mk III

All 4 sides. When someone asks you the question “who is the greatest male vocalist of all time” the only appropriate answer is “you mean besides George Jones?”

Holy crap, that was so good! Everyone alive or dead always knew that 'The Sun Always Shines on TV' was A-ha's best song, but that version absolutely crushes. Paul's rock guitar is tasty as hell. Are we agreed at this point that Ghost are trying to channel A-ha a lot of the time?

I don't know if you've every heard this dronegaze version of 'A-ha's greatest song', but I love it with all my heart.

Yeah, I've listened to about a million of their live recordings, which are all fine, nice, competent and all, but often a bit boring, but this one blew me away. Morten Harket's grunge outfit alone is a must-see, isn't it?

The dronegaze dark ale version you posted is perhaps just a wee bit too gritty for the kind of meat pie I cook these days, but yes, it's a fact that 'The Sun Always Shines on TV' is their best song. If you ask me, they've made three good songs: 'Take On Me', 'The Sun Always Shines on TV' and 'Hunting High and Low'. I can't name any other actually.

Ghost and A-ha? I must admit I hadn't thought about this, but perhaps Ghost have evolved into a sort of Mercyful Fate/A-ha hybrid?

I mean, that song sounds exactly like if your influences were Don't Break the Oath and Hunting High and Low

I wasn't up so up to date with Ghost, but that song is a banger. I then watched a vocal coach critiquing it and, yeah, it's a bit of a tour de force. The Thin Lizzy Lizzy lead, the weird key change etc. My favorite Ghost is always the first album, but that song you posted was really good and, yeah, very A-ha.
