standard questionaire:

tv station:
favorite program:
fave website:
fave newspaper:
fave radio news:
what do you think of opinion shows, like "The O'Reilly Factor" or "Hardball":
fave opinion show:

this is an "i'm curious" kinda thing. i'm not out to make judgements or corner people on their choice of media. i'm more interested in how you get your news, and why you get it from those sources. mostly because i'm looking for other outlets i may be disregarding now. once there are a few answers, i'll post mine too.

I pretty much just watch our local news. Plus whatever happens to pop up at yahoo or comcast.net. I don't watch any shows like O'reilly.

Assuming you mean for news only:

Favorite station: CNN

Program: none

Website: impossible to pick a favorite, I go to cnn, fox, msnbc and worldnetdaily among other fringe ones just to catch everything, but you have to take those with a grain of salt

Newspaper: Post gazette

I dont have one certain opinion show that I watch, I flip through sometimes. Sometimes both sides make good points but I dont know anyone I fully agree with.

TV-Station: Used to be Fox but after the Bastardization of democracy they demonstrated during the election, I am thinking of changing.

Program: Right now it's "Jacked" that Car theft task force show.

website: MSNBC.com , woot.com, Slickdeals.net

Newspaper: Dallas Morning News

I like Bill O'Reilly. He can be a douche but he's articulate. Opinion show, of my fav's is Mad Money.

If were just talking about favorite show in general, I am going with "The First 48" or Penguin hockey games.

i meant news show. as in do you watch the local news or stick with the national outlets? or do you not watch news tv at all? in fact, the questionaire doesn't even ask about radio, so i'll put that up there now.

I don't watch TV news at all - the whole system is corrupted by the need for ratings. It's too sensationalized. I get what news I need from the net, utilizing the websites of CNN and Fox among others.

I usually get most of my news through the internet(I only read our local paper online as you can probably tell from some of my posts) and I'll scan through the TV news every once in a while...no favorite channel...

i never watch local news....rarely watch national news....mostly get my news from our local newspaper website....occasionally watch fox and friends in the morning....or o'reilly at night....

tv station: fox news
favorite program: none - i try to only watch the news shows, not the opinion shows. i try to watch local news, otherwise i get numb to what's going on here.
fave website: i guess cnn
fave newspaper: wall street journal. i know they're bias, and who their core demographic is. they're not pretending to be unbiased, like the Times. and its a well written paper, unlike the other local papers
fave radio news: don't listen, as i tend to think of radio as a car thing. i do have fits of NPR listening though.
what do you think of opinion shows, like "The O'Reilly Factor" or "Hardball": i try not to watch them. i want to make my own decisions, not watch a shitstorm.
fave opinion show: Meet The Press. i watch it because they're actually trying to have a discussion instead of yelling at eachother.

tv station: none....

favorite program: none....

fave website: CNN.com and BBC.co.uk

fave newspaper: Rocky Mountain News

fave radio news: KOA morning news show (I listen every weekday morn...)

what do you think of opinion shows, like "The O'Reilly Factor" or "Hardball": Don't watch them

fave opinion show: See above...

I dont have television at home, so.

I Listen to either am 640 KFI, or am 1070 KNX on the commute to and from work.

I look at the Fox News website here at work, with an occasional click to weather.com

Thats about it. My commute is 45 minutes or so, so i get a good dose just travelling every day.

I have a tv, but its only connected to a dvd and vhs player. i get no outside signal.

Got rid of it about 8 years ago, and to be honest, dont really miss it. I see a lot of movies and such though.

Wow man. I donmt watch much TV myself but even I dont know that I could live without one. Hardcore. AOK

biggrin

I own about 800 movies/TV series, plus am a member of Blockbusters online deal, where i get them in the mail and exchange them at the store. I have the 3rd and final season of Kung Fu (the old david carradine one) being shipped to me right now.

I like it better this way. I dont have to be at the tv at any certain time so i dont miss something, i dont end up surfing after a show to find another. Im pretty happy with things this way. With my long commute to work, im usually more up on the news than most others around me. hahaha

Yeah, like I said, there are certain things I would definitely miss. I never watch the NFL, but I definitely would miss watching NHL games live.

i didn't have tv for a year in college. it was great.

my GF is thinking about switching from the all movie channel plan we have now to simple basic cable. we barely watch the movie channels anyway, and only got it because it came with the internet package. but we really don't need it.

I didn't have a TV (or watch the one I had) for several years in my 20's. Just wasn't into it.

Now I watch stuff that rates :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed: out of :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:
