What was your first concert?

DFB

Kick Henry Jackassowski
Mine was Led Zep in 1977 at Madison Square Garden.

I still have the button WPLJ gave out at the gate.
It was an unbelievable experience for a 13 year old.

I honestly can't remember which was first, but it was either Santana, opened by Journey, Johnny Winter, opened by Edger Winter, or Clapton opened by Muddy Waters. A fourth possibility is Quency Jones, opened by The Brothers Johnson.

I had a cool dad.

wow.....august of 1968. it was a big festival type deal, amphitheater. local and regional acts.
the headliner was Big Brother and the Holding Company. the next summer Janis was at Woodstock.

I got lucky on that concert.
My friends brother wom 4 tickets from a radio station.
One of his friends couldn't make it and he brought me.

i was 12 at that concert. i was beginning on guitar and a bunch of the older kids (16+ ) thought i was pretty cool, playing dylan and clapton, so they convinced my mom it would be ok for me to go with them to the concert.

Metallica? Suicidal Tendencies and Danzig opened. The crowd just laughed through Danzig. Must have been '92 or '93 or so.

That was my first "real" concert if you don't count high school bands or the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

I've posted this before, but it was California Jam 1974. Around 300k people at the now non-existent Ontario Motor Speedway. I was an actual kid at the time and was right up front for the last 3 acts: Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and ELP. Clips below are the actual concert.

Winepress and Snap Judgment at Off the Alley in Homewood, IL in early 1992. I was in 8th grade.

It was pretty much like this, but the crowd was a little wilder. I went with my dad. Going was his idea. He was really into Snap Judgment.

It was local pop punk semi-legend's Winepress' first show. A good chunk of the band was my age.

And not too long after that, I saw Ozzy Osbourne, Faster Pussycat, and Ugly Kid Joe on the No More Tours Tour. I started going to arena/shed shows pretty regularly in high school. First theater show I saw was Urge Overkill and the Geraldine Fibbers at Riviera in November of 1995. (Which apparently should have featured Guided by Voices as a support act, but they left the tour.)
