Hot In The Shade Tour
Supported by Little Caesar and Slaughter

I was 7 years old, and not proud at all of this. :embarrassed:

I’ve lived in NoVa most of my life and haven’t seen a real show at Jiffy Lube. I saw the Warped Tour there, but that was setup in the parking lot, not the venue.

I went to four Ozzfests at that venue. One side stage and the main stage. It was a great experience every time except for the Limp Bizkit set in 98.

Summer of '76... the Beach Boys came to Lowell and played the local football stadium. I remember it fairly well only because my dad won the tickets from the local AM radio station and he drove. He was more into the big band stuff from the 40's... he couldn't stand a lot of rock. So he gave my much older cousin Pam the other ticket. As it turned out, watching her was just as fun as the show.

September, 1983 at the long-and-dearly-departed Poplar Creek Music Theater in Hoffman Estates, IL:

Asia (with opener Chris DeBurgh, hot on the heels of his "Don't Pay The Ferryman" FM hit). It was memorable for many reasons:

1) I liked Asia (so shoot me :embarrassed: )
2) Geoff Downe's keyboard rig on th rear riser was ridiculously massive
3) Steve Howe. He did an acoustic solo spot playing "Clap" and "Mood For A Day", plus was armed with his custom Gibson ES-Artist, which I thought was badass.
4) John Weston was wielding his mighty black Gibson Victory bass. He seemed a bit...aloof at times, especially when later in the set, he forgot a line to a song, and hung his head in frustrated defeat because of it before continuing. Little did anyone know that they would cancel the rest of the tour after the next show, and he would leave the band.

The girl I was wooing went with me, and her two brothers. She became my girlfriend that night...not that we did anything, but...

Neil Diamond @ the Spectrum in like '78 or '79
I was 8 or 9 years old and remember wanting to go home and go to bed way before the show was over.

Simon and Garfunkel in a high school auditorium in 1966 (or 67 - the Sixties are a bit of a blur). Sounds of Silence had hit but they were still performing without a band. It was there that I came to appreciate what a great guitarist Paul Simon is.

In 1969 I went to my first big outdoor concert - The Band at Merriweather Post Pavillion.

Actual footage of Gary Blanchard...
