Where do you guys usually meet a craigslist seller when buying gear?

When I sold the house and had to get rid of a washer, dryer, and some furniture I had to have people over at the house. I was not too crazy about the idea but nothing happened. Normally I want to meet in a neutral location.

If there is any uneasiness for the other person we meet in front or in a music store. Strait music let us bring our stuff in and demo in the store.

Actually, the last thing I bought off craigslist was an antique bed, so I pretty much had to go to the seller's house.

Maybe we don't have as many weirdos up here as you guys do, but it was an older couple, and there were no hassles or anything creepy.
Of course, there are more guns in NH than people, so I guess that kind of keeps everybody straight.

I love these stories where the intended victims turn the table on the thug perpetrators. There's a lot of scum out there.

I use the beer distributor parking lot across from my neighborhood for portable stuff. I'm not too concerned about meeting people at a residence given its a decent area or them coming to my place and what not for large stuff. Over all the craigslisters I've met, the ones for the smaller stuff have been the sketchiest ones

I've met in people's houses to buy stuff but I always have lengthy conversations with them to get a good vibe about the kind of person they are. Usually you can tell from speaking with someone if they act professionally and with good manners that they are going to be nice people to be trusted. Never had a bad experience.
The last time when I bought an LP, the seller met me at an outdoor mall area with a lot of people around. I guess he didn't want someone coming to his house he didn't know which we discussed this and I respected the situation. I also told him I wouldn't have any cash on me when we initially met and retrieved some from the ATM after I made a decision. We talked for a while after the transaction as he was a great guy.

I usually do it at my house or their house. I occasionally do parking lot deals if its just an instrument. You’re about as likely to get robbed in Craigslist deals as you are to win the lottery. Because only the stupidest of crooks don’t know that Craigslist keeps track of where those emails come and go from.

I've met at the seller's home a few times, and at a public meeting place (store parking lot, etc.) a few times.

Never had even the barest hint of a problem, though I generally have a folding knife and pepper spray in my pocket.
