I will be going from "California winter", that is, temps around 40 at night and 60 during the day and a lot of tule fog right now, to real winter on Wednesday, Ottawa Ontario Canada with projected lows in the negative numbers F. I certainly will not be acclimatized to that change. I plan to drink a lot of wine to stay warm

If the snow is already getting to you at this point, perhaps you should consider a move to a warm climate.
Last year, we got a substantial amount of snow November 7th. This year we’ve only had dustings of snow so far.
I’m a skier, so I look forward to snow. But, it would be easier if it only snowed up in the mountains.
We put new tires on my wife’s vehicle Friday and my son’s vehicle Saturday. My new tires are going to get installed tomorrow.

My new car has 4 wheel drive, but getting the driveway clear is a struggle. The forecast says we will get 5-8 inches of snow Tuesday. Hopefully our plow guy will show up; my shoveling days are behind me.

Meteorological winter weather arrived exactly on time here this year. We got our first real snow storm. And, the morning temperature is 7 degrees Fahrenheit. The curse of @baimun is upon us.

If it makes you feel any better @baimun, I got up at 6am this morning to clear the snow off the cars with a push broom. I shoveled the front walk. We did not get as much snow as you, and what we did get is champagne powder. So, I was able to clear the snow off my back deck, and patio, with a push broom. Don’t worry, we will get lots more snow here eventually. But, it’s a much drier climate, so it’s not as miserable as locations with high humidity. I started up my snow-thrower to clear the snow off the concrete in front of my garage. It was so cold it took 5 tries before it started.
I save my bitching about the snow here for Spring, when we get the wet and heavy stuff. I’ll be sick of winter weather here in the Spring, yet I’ll continue to enjoy the snow up in the mountains at the ski resorts.

Let’s Get Obtuse!
It’s too early for this shit. Sticky, heavy snow. Shoveled for about an hour on Saturday to clear out the first 5 or so inches and then back at it to get the new accumulation done Sunday morning—plus digging out the cars on the street. Supposedly going to get more tonight.
Hope it’s not so bad I have to dig into a spot when I get home from my work thing tonight.
