    Ruined my Blues playing

I definitely had the blues when I was a teenager! Nowadays I accept everything life throws at me with a mundane indifference, but back then I really got worked up about stuff!

A couple of my all time favorite blues performances.

My favourite two - first, the best (IMHO) BB King clip... Second, Magic Sam! Borrowing Earl Hooker's guitar.

The Blues guy from your home town

The Dutch vid made me think of sadly departed Dave... only clip I could find is this remixed version of him playing the Thrill... Great player, great singer too.

I think I've just heard the best strat replacement pickup ever this morning.

For me to spend $500 on a set of pickups I'd have to try them out side by side with their rivals, not just view a few Youtube clips and then order them off a MySpace page... Myspace... vintage correct!

Would you trust your guitar to this man????

You can't trust any old tech these days... which is why I only use this guy.

    Hendrix TOANZ!

Just the guitar track, on it's own. That sound....!

    GREEN

Matching headstock fail... ...or is that just me?

I think I've just heard the best strat replacement pickup ever this morning.

I'm a big fan of the Bareknuckles - I've got one in the bridge of a Strat and a set of P90s in my SG. ... I showed a mate of mine the Sliders clip though - I may have managed to persuade him to order a set. He's going to ask his wife first... if he does I hope to be able to check them out and...

I think I've just heard the best strat replacement pickup ever this morning.

They sound amazing. That guy in the vids is a pretty decent player, but he's keeping everything nice and simple and letting the pickups talk. I've actually been thinking about replacing the Texas Specials in my SRV sig recently... those 69s really have the sound I'm looking for... I'm a big...

    ES 139?

£1299 is pretty much what a Les Paul Standard costs new over here so the price seems OK... I quite like some of Gibson's new ideas... less so others - this one looks pretty cool. Peach guitars isn't very far away from me but I'm totally spent out after just buying a Martin and can't even think...

    Cheers Mark.....

I like this place too - and it's good to see HCEG exiles with knowledge and experience like yourself making the switch too. As long as the trolls don't follow...

    Build yer own.

I would spend most of it on the fees for one of those weekend luthier courses and the rest on materials and make my own 'parts' caster! ...or a solid rosewood Tele :rawk:

    Fender's new 'Channel Bound Fingerboards'

Looks cool. Would make it harder/impossible to replace a worn-out fretboard though.

    List Your Gear Here!

You guys all have so much gear! Guitars: Fender SRV Strat Gibson SG Special with Bareknuckle P90s Martin DC-28E (a D-28 with a cutaway and a Fishman pickup) Suzuki acoustic - basically a 1970s MIJ D-35 rip-off Musicman Stingray Bass (1977 pre-EB) Amps: Cornford Hurricane (18W...

Well, when I get unsolicited emails from guitar companies I have to share them here.

You can travel pretty much anywhere and pick up a used POS acoustic for $25... don't see the point in taking one with you.
