Hate you more? Not possible.
Well this is ULTRA DISAPPOINTING. (thanks GH)
The neck on the guitar feels really nice, super comfortable and playable. The "5th Gen" noiseless pickups are easily the best noiseless pickups I've heard - the first I thought actually sounded like real Strat pickups but without noise.
But....
The tuning stability is much, much better on my MIJ Strat with the vintage style six saddle bridge than it is on this one. I can go crazy on that thing and it stays in tune. On this one if I pull up it comes back sharp and if I go down it comes back flat. I lubed the nut and all the usual suspects (I know how to set up a Strat) and I'm sure I could get it sorted, maybe, but... I think I'd rather just send it back.
So there you go, you can all stop fealing JELUS of me and now please feel SORRY For me and keep me in ur thoughts and praiers.
Return it to GC and contact Sweetwater... they'll match the GC price (or do better) AND you'll get the 55 point quality check. When you shop there enough that you have a Salesperson who knows you by name (and their assistant knows you by name) they will hand pick instruments for you based on grain, weight or just about anything else I've put them through.
That's why I had three PRS Hollowbodies waiting for me on my last trip to A/B/C AND I got a better price than anything anyone had online.![]()
Why would Guitar center take back a guitar I bought from Adorama? [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]
But, was the tuning stability ULTRA bad?
Not sure why some work and others don't, I have my MIJ vintage style balanced using the "Verheyen" method (sp?) and I added vintage style locking tuners, and now I can go pretty wild on the trem and not really go out of tune much if at all. But this new one, set up using the same method, would not return to pitch even after moderate wiggle.Disappointing. I’m not a huge fan of the strat trem in general and have only really had luck with the vintage 6 screw deals—which I usually keep decked. Maybe it’s time for an Ultra Jazzmaster?
Oh crap, missed this one.Well this is ULTRA DISAPPOINTING. (thanks GH)
