OK. Puckman sold his Richter 5e3 Tweed Deluxe clone to one of my students a few months ago and my student brought it in for his class tonight. We had a little time before we got started and the studio was empty so I figured I would make a quick demo of it.
The amp has a Jensen 12" speaker in it an NO frills or features.
There is a Shure Beta 57 on the speaker and a Sennheiser e609 several feet away at about head height to get some room sound. Both mics went into ProTools and are panned slight left and right. There is no other processing.
I played my Suhr classic straight into the first input, had the tone mostly on about 6 for most of this and just played with the volume for the channel and my pickup switch.
One thing that I love about this amp is how responsive it is to play through. Even at high volumes. If I back off my right hand attack it totally cleans up. Hit it harder and it crunches out. I'm not a tweed amp guy but I would totally buy one of these. Especially since they go for about $700-$800 new
