Can I get an opinion on a mix?

This is for a new backing track series I'm working on. It will make sense once I have everything put together but the first one is going to be a template so that I can crank out the next 40 or so fairly quick.

There is no mastering, I want it to be kind of dry and I'm just looking to see if you guys think that the levels of each instrument are OK. I haven't mixed anything in forever and these are going to end up living on YouTube so there will be some compression happening there too.

Listening to it with some pretty good headphones. You might try panning the guitar more to the right channel. It seems to be competing with the keyboard that's in the left channel. The guitar could be just a scooch louder but panning it might help make it stand out more than increasing the volume.

But I mostly just use my ears to detect movement from small rodents so YMMV.

That already helped.

Good tone...drums could come down a bit...

If you would be interested, send me the tracks and I'll do a mix/master on them for your consideration...

I wouldn't mind hearing what you do. I'm going to try and keep this simple because I need to have about 40 tracks finished by the end of the month but I'm also not so good at the post-production part of this stuff.

Cool, I'm down for it...do you have a DropBox or similar account? Or I could set up a shared folder in mine...

Sounds fine.

If I was gonna nitpick, maybe roll the bass up slightly (I am a bassist after all), and take the edge off of it - looking to emphasize a big fat pocket.

Did you play that for twenty minutes or is it looped at some point?

As a backing track, it's great. I'm gonna play around with it tonight.

Thanks!
It’s totally looped

Agreed with Jello that the drums could come down, but just a bit. Or the guitar could come up a bit. Otherwise, it sounds good.

I listened to it on my shitty laptop speakers exactly as I would if I was gonna jam to it. I would say bring the bass up but otherwise it's good. Headphones might be a different animal but for my use, needs more bass.
