Can we talk about bass stuff?

If $$$ is not a pressing issue, we had a sub for a gig last fall who came in with a Mustang and a small Phil Jones combo.
It sounded phenomenal.

Please tell me about your env filter.

It is based off the DOD 440 (which I use for guitar), but I find that it keeps more of the low end and works better with the bass. I had the MXR bass envelope filter (still have it - need to list it) and it sounded good but didn’t seem to have as much quack to it as the MojoHand - it was more subtle.

If you’re really interested I can make a video tomorrow comparing the two, that would be fun.

That would be interesting, but no pressure. Don't feel like you're obligated or anything. I've been using the EH Blurst, which is a filter but not activated to the string strike, more of a synth type effect.
I need a better one for guitar too, not satisfied with either of the little mini ones I have, a Donner Auto Wah and a Maleko Industries Env Filter. The Maleko lack sufficient quack and both are really hard to dial in. Neither one sounds that good on bass either.

It truly is the Blurst of times. :embarrassed:

The DOD 440 is great on guitar and I got mine on sale recently for $49 brand new. I got it from here but looks like it’s not on sale now.

I’ve always liked my DOD FX25 Env. Filter for guitar. While I don’t see myself using it for this project, now I’m curious how it would sound on bass.

Fender Rumble 500 comb0 - 35 pounds of thump. I just got out of a band playing bass several months ago, but I loved that amp, as did the other band members. We had a LOUD drummer and the guitarist was using a Mesa Mark V half stack, and I never had to turn the Rumble past 10 o'clock. Has a dirty channel as well, so no need for a dirt pedal, just a standard 1-button Fender footswitch. The direct out sounded great as well for gigs with PA support.

Can't help you on the short scale bass, never cared for them.
