Does anyone use eBay anymore to buy and sell guitars?

I have a friend who pretty much exclusively uses Ebay. He bitches and moans about it all the time, but he's always got things listed...

I'm going to eBay my les Paul in the next few days. I don't think I have any better options for selling it.

Fees kinda suck but it is the best way that I know of to get a guitar in front of the biggest audience possible. I try to keep craigslist creeps out of my house so I only like to sell stuff there if I can meet them somewhere. Most folks on craigslist want to play it first. Plus, the responses from cl are really spotty.

Sadly I felt like the creepy person on the past two transactions. Fortunately the sellers knew and expected me to try the stuff out and was prepared.

I always use ebay to sell. Fuck craigslist in it's creepy stalker face.

I mostly buy new or from people I know on forums, but I'll buy the occasional part here or there on ebay.

I don't get the Craigslist hate. I've sold many things via Craigslist and never had a problem. I can see where it might be sketchy, but if you're smart about it and make the proper arrangements you'll be fine. I've only been raped twice and sold at least a dozen things so I think I'm doing pretty fucking good.

Same with me -- I've had a tire-kicker or two, but for the most part my CL experiences have been very positive. It's especially nice if you're looking to trade rather than sell.

I tried to sell but just ended up losing cash on listing fees because the items only had a few bids that didn't meet reserve. I'm done.

CL here has turned into a cesspool of pawn shops spamming their stuff and spambots replying. I've been running ads for a month know and have only had a handful of legitimate responses.

Only rarely.
We have a site kinda similar to craigslist but like craigslist you get all the dumb callers/questions.

I don't get that here at all. My wife and I have sold a dozen or so items in the last month, including tires, and have not had an issue. Of course, Georgia is open carry so there's probably a lot less creepy people doing creepy things.
