WTF: Explosion at the Boston marathon...

terrible event.

from what i'm seeing and hearing...kinda points to a "non-affiliated" attack. one or more individuals, not al queada, or taliban, or what have you.
if it WAS a large USA hating group, they would certainly have taken "credit" for it, or would very soon.

i'm also not feeling it for "timers".....i'm more in the camp of remote detonated. you really can't set timers for an event like that, where you really don't know when the largest crowd will actually be there. it's prolly a very good thing that the PD took down the cell phone system right after the second blast. damn good chance that burn phones were being used as detonators.

just my first impressions.

Avery (Son of fused) is ok...
He is attending Berklee and lives 6 to 7 blocks from the explosions.

He is waiting for info on some friends...
One is a drummer that lives .5 miles from his home in Pittsburgh, he is also fine. He is usually the type to be at finishing lines...luckily, not this time.

I will let you know on the rest of his friends....is I hear anything.
This hit close to home this time....my kid is there.... But so are many other parent's kids....and families.

Yeah, some people just suck......

Fused, glad your son is ok.

Block inlay, you area generous person.

Coralkong, I respect you trying to give as much info as you can, and allowing us to form our own opinions of the matter. But for now, the only opinion that matters is that some people are evil bastards and others need lots of mojo and prayers.

This is why I enjoy living in my small hick town in BFE. Most the world doesn't even know we're here.

Tragedies bring out the inner person. Cops ran toward the explosions trying to get people out of harm. Fire and EMS jumped in before the area was cleared of explosives. People all over have poured their well wishes and expressed their sorrow.

Others out there jumped in their hate fueled partisan vehicles instead of returning to their humanity. This quote should remain on our minds,
"...on days like this there are no Republicans or Democrats; we are Americans united in concern for our fellow citizens."

Thus far no more news which means, everybody that he knows about is ok....
Or he would be the first to be out looking for them, which could also be true....

Yeah, a sad day for so many....

Whomever did this.... there is no hell bad enough for you.... But I'm sure when its your turn, somehow someway, one will be made just for you....

Peace Out

Apparently my Nephew and his girlfriend are OK too....they live and work in Boston but apparently weren't near where all of that happened.

Yeah, Mrs G talked me out of Clarence.

Good call. Clarence ends up becoming "Lumpy".

I watched the news for a bit, and jeez. I really loathe reporters. I understand they are on the front line of freedom, but man, do their questions have to be so incredibly stupid? :embarrassed:

I saw a group interviewing an ER doctor, and i would have walked away after the second question.

Nice to get a little off topic of tragedy and be able to just smile and share with friends, even if only friends via the interwebz.

I've been ignoring the news today and I was swamped here os that made it easier to avoid all of that. I figure I'd read the recap once the dust has settled.
