Have you been to an escape room?

My sister in law and her husband took our kids to one a while back. They had a blast. My kids are 13 and 14, so they are more mature than us so you should have fun :grin:
 
Sounds like too much work to me. I would probably have a good time if I was forced to go to one though.
 
It takes the right group of people. If you can't work together or there's a "leader" in the group it will suck. If everyone is there for the fun of it and all relatively intelligent, it's a blast.
Dumb people who want to lead ruin it immediately.
We broke the record at the place we went to by 4 minutes. You know, because I'm smart.
 
Yes, once, it was okay.

The storyline is a big part of it too - ours was kinda meh. I'd try another just to compare.
 
I haven't been but it seems like they are already starting to die out in this area. They were opening them up in strip malls faster than Halloween stores in October, at one point.
 
they had an episode with an escape room on Big Bang Theory. i think it took them about 3 minutes to figure it out.
 
I've been to a couple. They are fun enough, I wouldn't turn an offer down, but it depends a lot on who you are there with. Despite being semi-popular for birthday parties and work functions, the target clientele seems to be groups of young professionals looking for something to do while drinking.

If you ask about the record holders, 9 times out of 10 it'll be one person who did it by themselves. Other people just get in the way of the process.
 
Sounds like it could be fun with the right group. My wife has some major claustrophobia issues so it's a non-starter for us.
