Hot or Not? Zion Radicaster

Real Strat....... If I had the money I would be buying an over priced Stratocaster instead of an over priced Partscaster.

So it's not really about the price. It's about the name on the headstock, regardless of actual build quality. Gotcha.

Nope. Tired of boutique builders throwing out over priced copies of instruments that have been around forever without giving me any innovation or reason to pay their rediculiois price other than being a boutique instrument.

What about those who innovate? A company like Zion, when they built this guitar, was making far better instruments than Fender was. Where do you draw the line? Additionally, what's the definition of overpriced?

What innovation and who says they are any better than a Fender? And now you are arguing just to argue.

The earlier Radicasters really were radical - modern sculpted bodies, wild paint, the whammy bar had a matching "whammy kozy" to match the paint and the thing was basically a hot rodded superstrat. This is a lot more conventional than the usual radicaster. Hoover makes or made great guitars. Kerry Livgren and Ty Tabor both have played Zion guitars and they also were the makers of the guitar part of the Moog Guitars.

The list of innovations is endless. From the staggered tuners which Fender only adopted on a limited number of models, to simply having higher tolerances on the production line. Is a $1400 Zion better than a $1400 Fender? Play them both and find out. But there's no reason to dismiss it simply from a picture on a screen.

No reason to praise it from a simple picture on a screen either at the end of the day it's a Strat copy.

at the end of the day, you'll never know because you can't play it.

and you'll never find me praising strats anyway. middle pickup failboats, the lot of them.

And why couldn't I play it? It appears to be for sale. If I were interested I think I could play it if I were so inclined.

So sorry to have a different opinion than you. I thought that was allowed on this forum.

apparently, you're not interested because you dismissed it as a superfluous knockoff
