How did all of you meet Mark - our fearless leader?

HCGJ for me as well. Mark was always a gentleman (I never tried soliciting at his place of business), had good things to say, and was obviously talented. I came here to supplement my guitar forum jones; now this is my home. Thanks Mark and everyone else for making this such a nice place to hang, and for not making me sit at the nerds' table.

And for my two smilies! :hippie: :old:
 
Yet another HCGJ refugee.

What actually got me to finally visit this forum is when Tig posted a thread about the Los Lobos concert that I had also been to about a year ago. Someone posted a link to it on what was left of HCGJ. Then, later, HCGJ died screamin'.
 
This is actually a pretty fun thread...it kind of gives you a sense of how the community has come together. I'm doing a mailing list newsletter in the next day or so and I might include a link to this thread...
 
Mark started spamming HCEG when the first meltdown happened and I came on over.
Stayed for a while but drifted away. I had a hard time dealing with the ADD nature of the lounge at first but I finally learned to love the bomb. Lol.

I figured many have a story. I know I did as I am not a HC refugee and I hoping that many others would share.
 
I also came here by way of responding to a Craigslist ad. This was for a Blues Performance Class. It was exactly what I needed; learning to play in a band playing music I love.

This forum is a good way to keep up with goings-on at Premier. I wish more students participated.

I never participated in any kind of forum before and except for a few stops at the West Coast Blues Thread at theGearPage, this is the only one I visit regularly.

Never met him in person. Maybe someday. Came here when everybody else did, when HC didn't work. Then, HC would start working, and we would all go back there. Did that 3? times. Felt bad that Mark's place was good enough when HC didn't work but, then we would leave. That, and only cool people here, no asshats. Last time I came here, decided, never going back to HC.

Thank you Mark for such a great place to hang out.
 
HC for me as well. I first started coming to his site to check out his lessons, which are excellent BTW. Once the whole HC debacle(s) happened, I ended up here like a lot of other folks.

The only time I ever actually "met" him (and you, MSaint, for that matter) is when we went to Premier last Halloween.
