Dig it! i love the national dog show on thanksgiving, i watch it every year

I find these Dog Shows to be discriminatory. The dogs are all pure bred, and foo foo.
My favorite two dogs have been mutts. You won't find them at the NDS.

Fuck this guy.

Yeah I'm never a fan of all the breed purity stuff. We rescued a mix partly because we really could not care less about lineage or breed or whatever. With Kiira in the dogpark we usually get the "oh a mixed breed rescue? But she looks so nice" from people with some fancy ass dog that can't even deal with the temperatures here

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against people that want a specific breed for whatever reason, and I totally understand people that want to be able to have their dog from the earliest puppy stage possible, but some people really have the idea that every mixed breed is some scruffy semi feral beast.

I watched the some of the NDS yesterday and enjoyed it. I still love our mutt, but those were some fancy pooches.

I did enjoy watching the Westminster Dog Shows in part, especially when the Beagles won. I took my younger students to a regional dog show on a field trip. We were invited to the back to watch them being groomed. It was depressing to me, but hopefully the youngsters enjoyed it or don’t remember it. Then, we went outside to watch the agility time trials. That was fun. On the way, I saw dogs stacked in cages in large trailers. Not fun. My neighbors breed dogs to constantly produce puppies for sale. I find it sickening. I’m not trying to be a downer, but I appreciate my rescue kitty that was dropped off to a great home. She does have to be brushed 3X a day! I understand that pets need to be groomed & taken care of properly!

What makes it hilarious is them not realizing that their "pure breed" never existed in nature and is, in fact, a mixed breed. (Obviously not all, but a lot)
