Let’s Get Obtuse!
This topic just got Beato-ed.
There are already companies investing in, and developing small scale reactors. Something similar in size to what would be found on a nuclear submarine. The idea is that a data center, or group of them, would have their own small local reactor to power themselves. Of course, there are a lot of regulatory hurdles to overcome before this becomes reality. At a high level, it make sense, but like anything else, it all comes down to implementation."building reactors takes years."
This isn't in the politics forum so, I'll just say, I can imagine a scenario where that could be cut down to a month.
In the scenario I'm imagining, no matter how common sense the regulations are, an executive order will wipe them away. They will probably let them dump the waste anywhere. Probably give them a tax break if they dump where there is a high concentration of people with different genes. There are already companies investing in, and developing small scale reactors. Most nuclear waste gets stored onsite at the power plant facility. A few countries do deep geological disposal. I’m not aware of any countries that allow nuclear waste to be dumped just anywhere, nor near high concentrations of people. Perhaps, you live near The Simpson’s, in Springfield, where they dump the nuclear waste into the lake.

I hope you are right. I doubt it but, I still hope.
Conspiracy theories abound. The Red Mercury myth is a fun one. It’s a very powerful nuclear material created in Soviet labs. It can be used to make small nuclear bombs. It can be found in household items, including vintage sewing machines.
Women might disagree with that one. I bet an AI sex robot wouldn’t ask its girlfriend to do anal over and over again for years. It's not like the cyborgs are going to make love to our significant others better than we ever could?
you do know what happened to John Henry at the end of the story right? It's just a modern day version of John Henry. We need to work harder, and smarter. Just like John, we can win a race against this metaphorical steam powered, rock drilling machine.
It's not like the cyborgs are going to make love to our significant others better than we ever could? Make them laugh harder, and do the chores better, and faster right? There's no profit in that is there?
Laughs nervously. Looks down at his Johnson. Accidentally pours coffee on the cat.
But hey. Who knows? We will find out.
He got a candy bar named after him.you do know what happened to John Henry at the end of the story right?

Yeah, that's more of a bug than a feature in my mind. . . reducing critical thinking, increasing echo chamber effect. . . but that is why most people go to the internet and social media in particular. . .Seriously though, to get back to the AI topic. AI may be more human than we think. Stanford just published a study showing AI confirms users' bias even more than a human would.

AI's Sycophantic Bias: Flattery Wins, But at What Cost?
A new study reveals that AI models, when asked to analyze user situations or provide advice, agree with the user about 50% more often than real human interlocutors.quasa.io

I’ve long complained/carped that despite its supposed ability to showcase a diversity of thought/content, the internet is a consensus machine (see all the “this is the right way to do X” nonsense on the Gear Page or TikTok or whatever). So it’s not surprising consumer facing AI chat acts the same way. It’s made of the internet so…Yeah, that's more of a bug than a feature in my mind. . . reducing critical thinking, increasing echo chamber effect. . . but that is why most people go to the internet and social media in particular. . .
