Is G&L my Lord and Savior?

I'm still having a difficult time getting my guitar playing back up to where it was... Which isn't saying much. Different guitars have presented different challenges, some have been more forgiving than others.

Yesterday I pulled my Blue ASAT Tribute out of the gigbag and gave a spin.

Miracle.

Despite the notion that Telecasters are the Ultimate lie-detector, I was able to play for a good hour without pain, and with remarkably better execution than I've been capable of post surgeries.

It was the first time I've felt comfortable playing in well over a year now.

My ASAT saved me!

Thanks Leo!!!

My MIM tele has been reduced to backup status these days, but I know it’s always there, always reliable, and always feels good.

I have had my eye on an ASAT Tribute for 2 years.

The one I played at my local shop is awesome.

Switched back to The White Strat of Chimey Goodness for a bit and there's definitely a big difference. Must be the radius/neck shape. Still, it's coming along pretty well. I still get the occasional "Don't do that!" Twinge from the tendon tear, and some thumb pain on the left side, but it's gradually improving.

Right hand is pretty good except for holding onto picks. That part may be a good while yet.

Great news!

I've tried thin double-sided tape on picks before. That might take some of the strain out of holding it, plus a thin pick that won't suddenly stop if you dig in a bit much?

First - great to hear that playing keeps getting easier for you.

Second, WTF sort of bridge is that on the strat? Is it a Fender-branded Kahler?

That bridge was made by Schaller. Fender Japan called it the system 1, and was used on MIJ Fender and Squier Contemporary Series guitars in the 80s. I bought a couple when they first came out and they were great playing and sounding guitars.

Best bridges ever.
