ist week with the XBOX ONE, a review...

Is backwards really that much of an issue if you still have your old console?
I've only owned the first xbox and the controller felt like a loaf of bread.
Been a Sony guy since the beginning

I live the Xbox controller... The Sony one doesn't fit my hands quite as well and the triggers have always felt too jerky.

As for backwards compatibility, on my PS3 I only have about seven games; my 360 has close to forty. So an extra console is one more set of controllers to charge, one more HDMI port, and one more device to clutter up the living room.

and I'm the exact opposite for the controllers.
I am not at all comfortable with the XBox controller.
that may just be that I've not used them much, though.
but I find the Sony ones to work just right for me.

fired up the ps2 last night as well (with my awesome Nerf controller  )
played some X-Men Legends 2, Ghost Rider, and Primal (awesome game that slipped under the radar)

If I had space, the backward compatibility thing wouldn't be an issue at all. My place is TINY though and I really have to be choosy about use of space. One more console probably wouldn't break the bank space-wise, but it sure wouldn't help either.

as was mentioned earlier, it's just something they should have done from the get-go, back when the ps2 came out, and continued with each console.
I can't see why they wouldn't.
it's not like folks will buy the new console only to play games from the previous one they own; they're gonna buy the new games too, right?
I just don't get it...

while we are on the topic, after coming home from an unexpected shift last night, I wanted to play some ps3 with Tamara, but she wasn't into it, wanted to sleep instead.
so I looked through the ps3 games, and determined I really need some new games.
last new one I got was Lego Lord of the Rings last Christmas.
really want that new Lego Marvel Heroes
and the lastest Bioshock, too.
beyond that, I don't even know what's out there...

So let me get this straight, she wants to go to bed and you'd rather play video games?

on the plus side, with having got bored of the gaming so quickly last night, I also went to sleep early, leaving me 12 beers out of the 15pk I brought home.
guess what's for breakfast?

some Lucky Lagers will help with the drum track I'm about to start working on.
unless they totally ecplise my ability to function

Bioshock Infinite is FREE right now for Playstation plus members.

and PS+ requires I pay off my huge credit card bill.
cheaper to buy the disc

and I always prefer having hard copy anyways, I'm weird like that when it comes to games.
music, not so much.

Exactly, the 360 is still in everyday use, we have a ton of physical games for it as well as XBOX Live Arcade games like Minecraft that don't carry over to the XBOX ONE. It means having yet one more console taking up space, creating more spaghetti of wires, more batteries to constantly replace (or pony up for rechargeable packs that will need yet another charger/base plugged into the power strip).

As for backward compatibility, in terms of physical game discs, the XBOX ONE is incapable of being backward compatible since it now uses BluRay discs instead of the 360 original format.
