My favorite player gets an interesting signature guitar

Ouch! I was thinking maybe $1.5.
It very well could be, but I'm going off of what other guitars in the line are priced at. I'm going to work on getting my hands on one asap. Then we can see the pricing and such. Hope they won't want me to give it back.

meh, there are a million companies that do Strat style guitars, PRS made a name for themselves doing their own thing. Not sure why they did this one or the Mayer one. To me it feels like they are selling out to land an artist. I mean they kinda made these before with the EG series and those have been discontinued for a long time but it looks like a cash grab on their part.

I prefer a 6 saddle bridge and might have bought it if it had one. Looking into replacements, there's no information on the Gotoh bridge it comes standard with, so while I can infer a $40 Gotoh Modern bridge would fit, I'm not taking any chances.
It looks like a regular half bridge, which uses vintage mounting. If you couldn't drop a regular ashtray or the modern Gotoh (MIM Standard) bridge on there I'd be shocked.

For the record, three saddles or GTFO. LOL

I haz a disappoint. :embarrassed:

What the fuck? It's a Gretsch 'Jet with dearmond pickups copy, and he's talking like they designed it from the ground up? This would be like doing a promo for a Tokai Loverock and talking about how you'd set out to design a guitar yourself and just happened to invent something identical to a Les Paul.

That's breathtakingly disingenuous.

Looks like a great Gretsch copy though.

Indeed. I’m sure it’s a lovely instrument and a joy to play, but it’s a Gretsch Jet.

Yeah, someone needs to take him to a vintage guitar store and show him a 50's Gretsch. I love the look and I bet that Collings is awesome, but it's no surprise because I love Gretsch guitars.

It's incredible. 'I started off by thinking what would be the perfect pickup, and then went from there...'

You picked a Dearmond Dynasonic. And then got Collings to design a guitar around that to fit your specific requirements. Which coincidentally ended up as a Gretsch Jet. What a circuitous route that dude took to find out the treasure was here all along! It's like Coehlo's The Alchemist. But with cool guitars.
