I've been trying to thin the herd a bit (not easy - people aren't really buying these days), but have decided that there's one niche I need to fill: I want an 'everything' acoustic. Something that I can leave out on a stand, throw in the trunk for roadtrips, and even potentially bring on longer trips. I've had an Emerald X7 for a few years, and have decided that for this sort of thing, CF (carbon fiber) is just the thing. I've had too many wood guitars require extensive adjustment (e.g. neck resets, etc.) and want something that is just plain ready.

I've been a good boy and have been saving up my referee money through the HS and spring seasons, and am getting close to buying. My current thinking is that I will buy either:
Right now, I have enough to buy any of the last three options, and would need to save a bit more to get the Emerald.
 
This is far from my area of expertise. I will say I played Kerouac's Emerald a few years ago and it was really nice.
 
A friend has one of the smaller bodied 14 fret Rainsongs that he uses as his take-to-the-lake, leave-out-on-a-stand knock around guitar. I think its just fine for that, but I would certainly not call it an "everything" acoustic, if anything its a pretty "limited" acoustic. I would assume you have played them all and like what you are hearing.

btw, this is one of the fiberglass versions, not CF

The Rainsongs I am considering are "hybrid" (i.e. carbon/fiberglass b&s with unidirectional carbon fiber tops). I know that "everything" is a somewhat grandiose claim. I have no plans to get rid of my Takamine 12-string or my Martin custom 000-15 - rather, what I'm looking for is something that is light, sturdy, and giggable without worries!
