100% agree. dude is like 50-something. I think it's important to judge them against their contemporaries.
Dave is not even close to the worst of his era.
In an era where we simultaneously had "way cool Jr." and solo efforts from the likes of Ace Frehley, I highly doubt Dave would be considered among the worst.

I have to say. Having a pretty wide palate, that Appetite might win that one with me... And I love me some RIP... of course, I also count "Heart of Gold" and "The great radio controversy" among my favorite albums too...

Dave often gets too much shit thrown at him over his live vocals, many forget that he's usually playing some quite intricate riffs at the same time as singing, so his vocals tend to suffer a bit live. And I think it's more of a tone thing as well, pitch wise I'd say he's pretty damn good.
