Played my first round of golf today

I sucked today. Couldn’t putt to save my life. Fortunately yesterday and Friday were much better.

In other news, I have a 101 deg fever now and feel like trash. Obviously, too many 3-putts compromised my immune system.

Played Torrey Pines North yesterday. Tee'd off at 2:42 and didn't finish until 7:45. The players ahead were so fucking slow. We had to wait for almost every shot we took.

However I had a terrific round. It was my best ever. I was hitting my driver very well, which surprised me since just last week I couldn't hit it at all at the driving range. My putter was hot. I only 3-putted on three holes, all the rest were 1 or 2 putt. I shot 47 on the front 9, which is first time I shot under 50 for nine holes. The back 9 killed me, I shot 56 there. My mid-iron and hybrid clubs were not happening that day. However around and on the greens I was making it happen. It was a great round. I felt like the Bishop in Caddyshack.

105 last Friday, didn't play bad but soaking rains nights before didn't allow for much roll and high grass in the rough cost me a few shots.

Played Mission Bay for the first time. It's a nice little par 3 course with a few par 4 holes sprinkled in there. Front 9 was a total disaster as I kept missing to the right on all my tee shots. On top of that the greens were tricky and the pin placement was greenskeepers revenge with the pins near the edge of the green and right on the edge of some slopes. Back 9 got better as I started to dial in my swing better. I did par several holes, and I nearly birdied 18.

Now that the days are getting longer it's time to get back out there more often.

Gonna go hit the range Friday. I hadn't ever played until 2-ish years ago. Ended up doing a work tournament and then got the FIL to start playing again. Now he lives at the development around the course and I've played a few times since, and he even bought me a set of clubs for my birthday  I'm not great, but when I'm good, I'm very good. Problem is when I'm bad, I'm very bad, lol.

Well, went out and hit a bucket today. . . one thing I can say is my percentage of good/bad shots is getting higher. 5 iron still kicks my ass, and I can usually hit my 7 iron just as far as my woods, but between the 9i/7i/3hybrid I can make bogey with some pars  Sometimes the driver is my friend, sometimes not so much. :conf:

Woo, just finished my round with an eagle on 18, my 2nd ever.

It’s a short par 4, and my drive was just 30 yds short of the green. Put that little pitch shot right in there.
