The music is in you so even if (and we are a LONG way from that) you can't play you can still make music. You can sing and that doesn't need a strong grip AFAIK.

Mojo and more mojo. I can't imagine what you are going through. I've played guitar for 46 years! At least you have a chance so do what they tell you and with all this mojo you'll be alright. Good luck, I'll keep you in my thoughts for more mojo.

Thanks all. It means a lot to get so much support. It was a sad day, I can't lie. Guitars are all packed and stowed out of sight, amps are packed, stacked and covered in the garage. No trace of anything guitar related visible in the house. When I shut the lid of the case for my White Stratof Chimey Goodness, I broke.

It will be a joyous day when I open that case again. It just has to be. It was like seeing a dear friend board a flight for some far away land and not knowing when or if you'd see them again.
