The clerk said it's a CC style pickup. I don't think I've ever heard a CC live, but judging from recordings, it's in the ballpark. It's weird just seeing nothing but a blade there.
Didn't spend much time with it but overall it made a good impression.
I like the deep V neck. It's nearly identical to the one on my Silvertone.
Well I guess the whole guitar is nearly identical to my silvertone

I believe Regal was bought by Kay in the 50s? So, yeah, it's almost exactly the same guitar as my Silvertone but with a laminate top instead of spruce.

Hmmmm, pretty cool in a 30s style electric guitar way. What did the clerk mean by CC pickup? Country Club? Because, that's not even remotely like the Dynasonics my Country Club had. Dynas have individually height adjustable polepieces.

Stopped by Lone wolf today and this is still there. Today, I plugged it into a Princeton Reverb silverface with the tremolo going. Oh, my. According to the owner, it's supposedly a 1936 built by Gibson under contract. No truss rod, but it does have (with slightly altered cover) an honest to goodness Charlie christian pickup in it.
This thing makes some hum, but it sounds oh so good.
New pics...
