you're on the right track with the swollen pickle. 70s fuzz and doom is in that box.
I got a chance to play some of the fuzz pedals that were in some local stores (mostly GC and a local independent). I think I like the swollen pickle the best of what I got to try. I think the tweak-ability was the real big selling point. I got some great tones out of it, including the vintage fuzz I wanted, and the heavier stoner doom sounds I wanted. The local guy showed me a bunch of cool settings, as he has one, but we really only scratched the surface of sounds in there. I think this might be the one. The local guy gave me a decent price, and offered to toss in a couple of generic pedal board cables to hook it up. I'm still thinking it over, but so far, the pickle is the winner.
On another note, my wife thinks the name is very funny, and suggested I could use it to impress her female friends.
you do know why it's called a Swollen Pickle, right?
