Suggestions for new Tuners

Hey Guys (and Girls)

I was hoping to get your advice. I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio with the auto-tuners, yes I know of the problems these types of tuners have and yes I am seeing the truth in that with mine. So I am planning to replace that awful tuning system with "normal" tuners, but not sure which brand of tuners to replace it with. What I am looking for is locking tuners that will look like they belong on this studio guitar, not something that looks like it's out of place. I've looked at a set of tuners called "Planet Waves" they have an interesting feature in that they cut the string as well, but not sure the look is what I want.
What suggestions do you all have that would fit the bill? Also, what dimensions should I be looking at as far as post size and thickness?
As always, your advice is welcome and priceless
Thanks

Everything I read is the tuner holes are 10mm (25/64"), so just about any modern tuner should fit. Schaller, Grover, Sperzel, Hipshot, Planet Waves, and some retro Kluson-style options for 10mm holes.

Unless you go Hipshot, my advice is to have a tech install them. The rest need pilot hols for screws pre-drilled, or holes for the pin guides.

Any of the major brands make solid tuners. My personal preference is locking tuners on every guitar I own.

I would go with vintage-style tuners. But I’m conservative and tiresome when it comes to guitar stuff.

Hipshots or locking tuners might be a good alternative to the robotuners. And if there is an option that would be close to drop-in, with a minimum of drilling and exposed ugly bits, that would sure be nice.

Just want to take a moment to say thanks for all the great advice. I am going to get a set of hipshot tuners for it. They should fit the aesthetics of the guitar well and give that they were the highest recommended by you all.
Thanks again guys(ladies).

I've never had a problem with aftermarket modern Kluson tuners. Smooth, accurate, attractive and cheap.

Further up date. I just finally had the time to replace the auto-tuner keys on my LP with the hipshot ones you all suggested (most all) and it was great simple and easy. It took longer to remove the Gibson auto-tuners than it did to replace them with the new ones. Thanks again you all. Your advice was spot on and a huge help.
