Help! Suggestions for Reading Book

rdkraus

Little Hot Wing
I can read music. And I can read and play, at an elementary level, in several positions
on the guitar, open, 2nd, 5th, etc. I'm looking for a good book to continue reading/playing
so I won't lose that skill, even though it's not really my focus. It's also a good way to learn
the fretboard for me. I'm looking for simple pop/rock type songs that I would enjoy
playing. Example: Yesterday by the Beatles.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I've actually been using this off an on and it's a great method. Supplement it with a trumpet or clarinet book...

You can also get violin music from Vivaldi, go to a new or used book store and find music for band instruments. Look for woodwinds (Flute, Clarinet) or strings (Violin) as these instruments do not have transposed parts. Brass instruments such as Saxophones will be in either Eb or Bb and IIRC French Horn in F will trumpet are in Bb.
