Haha, thanks but I'll pass. There's a reason the song is going on 10 years old with no lyrics to date. I've never been one who feels comfortable writing lyrics. I'm interested to see what you've put together though. I'm going to have to get going on mine. Time's a ticking.

Ok, cross posting this. I am not in charge here, but think we should extend the deadline a month as I suggest above. Anyone else have an opinion? In my opinion, we should keep our commitments as Jeremy pulled the names, and get more people in to cover one of Jeremy's tunes in support of his family and his fund. What say you guys?

Ok, let's do this thing. The songs I had planned were "Chicago", which I may need help with, and an old one, Henry, which apparently pre-dated Jeremy. I may have to re-think this as I am such a hack, that my cover of Chicago may not do it justice. Aw heck. I will just do it anyway, and others can do their versions too. Maybe we can even do a version where we collaborate. But let's go ahead and extend the deadline a month and get some done. Since the motion has been seconded, all in favor?

Jeremy was really nice about it.

Here what he said: "I'm going to do Power Flight. I hope it won't offend you if I change a couple things up? If it will, I'll find another tune to do. I really don't want to show anything that might be taken as disrespect."

My reply was:

"No biggie dude - have fun with it!
It was the bass player and I that wrote that and was our first recording in the studio.
Are you going to punk it up?"

Jeremy replied with: "That's the plan. I'm not going to go overboard with it ala punx across borders, but I've figured out a few things that make it a lot easier to turn into a punk song. :) I'm pretty glad you're cool with it. My biggest fear in doing this one was pissing someone off by changing their tune."

That is the kind of guy he is - a great one! Damnit...RIP bud.

Here is the song Baimun. We recorded this in 1982 I believe and was my first time in a recording studio. Used a Mighty Mite strat with Bill Lawrence pickups and a Mesa Boogie Mark IIB.

 
So this particular White Elephant edition is being postponed so we can focus on JEREMYFEST! in honor of Jeremy and support of his family. Details to follow very soon, but basically it is going to be a recording fest of songs from Jeremy's band done as a benefit for his family. I should have an announcement up by late tonight or tomorrow. Due date for reveal will be July 9.
