Favorite Guitar: 1990 Charvel ST Custom and a 1991 Charvel 375 Deluxe
Favorite Amp: Don't have a favorite. Use Digitech GNX3 through a cheapie 2X12 amp.
Favorite Pedal: Digital Delay. Had a most excellent Phase 100 MXR (NOT the 90 single-knob version) that I regret getting rid of.
Favorite Pickups: Seymour Duncan
Favorite Tone: Thick. Currently using H-S-S with a lot of H.
Favorite Player: Pete Townshend, Alex Lifeson, Trevor Rabin, I dig some Joe Satriani as well, but I can't play like him, I just appreciate what he can do.
Favorite Genre: What these days is called "Classic Alternative", some "Prog", "Classic Rock"
Your Actual Tone: Kind of dark, thick and creamy. Don't like "muddy" though. Punchy may describe it best.
Your Actual Influence: The Who, Zep, Rush, Janes's Addiction, really like Yes with Trevor Rabin, U2's The Edge.....
Your Actual Genre: Sloppy with a lot of fallback power-chords. When in doubt, pull a pinch harmonic and pull up on the wiggle-stick.
Professional (Y/N): Not even close.

Favorite Guitar: That depends on mood: Fender Stratocaster SSH, Ibanez AM 93, Takamine 12 string
Favorite Amp: Peavey Classic 50, Tube Works Tube Driver TD-752-ES (I actually prefer this one mostly clean)
Favorite Pedal: So many to choose, but I'll go with Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus, with the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive a close second
Favorite Pickups: Mostly the pickups that come with the guitars, but I recently put Lace Sensor Gold pups in a Strat SSS, and I love them. I also love have Gibson Classic 57's on an Epi LP, and Ibanez Super 58's on my AM 93 that sound amazing.
Favorite Tone: I like clean, or a bluesy overdriven sound as the basic sound. I also like to thicken it with chorus.
Favorite Player: Soooo many that I like, I could spend all day. The short list: Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, BB King (such expression in his Blues)
Favorite Genre: Praise & Worship, Classic Rock, 60's Folk Rock, Blues
Your Actual Tone: Depends on genre, and mood. I love playing "Nights In White Satin" and getting that ethereal sound.
Your Actual Influence: Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Chicago
Your Actual Genre: An attempt to get anywhere near my favorite genres LOL
Professional (Y/N): I do get free meals when I play with my band at churches. Does that count? LOL

It's been fun seeing all the new (and returning) folks this month. I hope you guys continue to hang out even if HC gets sorted out. :)

I'm staying. HCEG is kinda like an X girlfriend at this point... Still stalk her on Facebook but don't contact her lol!

I look at the open letter thread. Anderton had a nice post which was cool. Dendy was back-pedaling like a MOFO which was funny in a sad sort of way. Idk. Hopefully new blood will bring it back, but I like hanging out with the older folk here.

Time will tell I guess. Ultimately if folks want the forum to survive over there they need to post a bunch. If they don't, then we have plenty of space here too. :)

Can we clarify the "Professional" thing here?

Other than Mark,Tom Strahle, and Gibby, I don't think there's many of us who get 100% of our income from playing music.

I'm interested in knowing how many of our members are in regularly gigging bands who get paid to play. I put "part time" because while I have multiple gigs per month, usually only 1 or 2 are band related... the others are DJing.

I make 100% of my income from music, but maybe 5% (all year!) of it from gigging.
