I first read about him in some music magazine back in 1991 or 90 whenever Green Mind came out. I was in the mountains of extreme western N.M. Camping with my dad and I had purchased the magazine to bring along for reading material. It was a large magazine like the old spin and rolling stone, actually it was like an alternative to the at the time Spin when Spin was kinda alternative before alternative was a thing…
When we got back I woke up the next day and drove to the record store as soon as they opened and purchased it on cassette…been a fan ever since.
I gotta say, this new release is one of the strongest in his whole catalog. It’s up there with Green Mind and Where you been imho?

I think the appeal for me with J or Dino is that they/he forever sounds like a polished garage band that's just about to get signed. And I mean that in the most complimentary way. They've never lost that raw sound or feel and I love it.
