The inevitable conclusion to the career of Amy Winehouse...

Saddens me, not because I was a fan -- I doubt I know a single song of hers -- but because even though something seemed that inevitable to so many people, no one could stop it. And that's just the way it is.

I think it was just a matter of when not if with Amy. I personally did not like her music or the way she presented herself, but its always sad to hear someone has died.

Sad when your self-destructive/sucidial lifestyle becomes more famous than the talent that put you in the spotlight

I find this very sad. She was an immense talent and had a lot of potential still to reach. Those of you that haven't heard the Back to Black album should really give it a listen.

Exactly.

The amount of said talent is debatable, but out of respect, not now.

I am a huge fan and deeply saddened and pissed at the waste.

Check her out in 2004:

RIP.
As jaxn slim says, check out Back To Black. It's a really good album. The Japanese edition has a pretty decent version of Toots & The Maytals "Monkey Man".

I can't say I was a fan, but it is sad to see anyone lose their battle with addiction.

are these videos indicative of the stuff she normally did?
I've no idea why, but I assumed she sounded like the Black Eyes Peas or something...
it's a far cry from what I'm hearing in these clips.

still not really my bag, but much easier to listen to than what I expected.

Did she say "Who's Kurt Cobain?" (like my wife did)?

That's what life is like when you've been Blancharded. :embarrassed:

Addiction is a horrible thing. I saw it take the life of a 22-year-old a week ago. In my work I see the toll it takes all too often.
