The OFFICIAL 2019 HeelStock Event Thread...

We should totes do a midwest installment. We can call it the JAG-OFF and rent one of the fancy practice spaces with a couple of full stacks as house rigs and we can peel paint for a few hours and then hit up the Vienna tour/company store for some real weiner action.

There is no way in hell I should be home already...but here I am...made great time, a situation probably considerably enabled by not having to haul the additional weight of my pedal board, which I accidentally, inadvertently and most emphatically did not intentionally leave behind...

The car is unloaded, the PA is stowed back in it's upright position, the amp is back on the stand...the pedalboard is nowhere to be seen...and most importantly the Atomic Jazz Bass ( @Bob411 ) is in it's new home...unfortunately my ridiculously early arrival prevented me from stopping at Alto Music (opens at 11am on Sunday) and picking up new strings...setup and playing will have to wait until tomorrow as I am most decidedly NOT going back out today...

Another great weekend, thanks in no small part to @Guitar Heel who once again hosted a killer jam...I think this one may have been my favorite so far...

Of course this never could have happened without the gracious Shari, who opened her home to her ex and his merry band of reprobate friends...

Tributes all around to @smurfco @VoidTerraFirma @Chad @eloydrummerboy @telecaster911 and @reverend1 for being awesome...

I'm going to make a pizza and watch TV...

That bass is significantly larger than the one you just parted with.

It is, yes...and heavier as well...

I did not go into Atomic with any intention of buying anything unless they happened to have a decent mic preamp, which they did not...the bass just caught my eye and, once having played it, my wallet as well...it's a 2008 FSR Mexican that, other than one dimple in the finish on the back of the upper horn, is in absolutely immaculate condition...it does need a neck shim and a full setup...They had it stickered at 579.00...no way was I buying it for anything over 500.00 all-in, which they met and included a non-matching Ibanez gig bag so I could get it home safely...killer deal, killer bass...

Now I don't have to do the build I was planning for later this year...
