What are everyone's NYE plans?

After many years of playing Les Pauls thru various Marshalls I gigged last night for the first time with a Tele into a Fender Blues jr. I am going for a big fat clean sound, and am using a caitlinbread for a touch of over drive .The compressor makes the notes pop out of the speaker amd i'm using a Boss Dmw2 for some slapback. It's taking a bit of getting used to but the other guitarist and the singer were very very happy with how this tone compliments the over all band sound. I'm using a Radial Tonebone PB1 Clean boost as well, and for slide it sounds GREAT turning it on,and rolling the volume down on the guitar.I roll the volume up for the slide lead and it really sings

For the record, I managed to stay up past midnight on NYE. It was rubbish.

The firecracker din in my neighborhood was way louder than it has ever been in the past, someone must have been selling them cheap this year. It was like a constant roll of thunder for an hour or so.

The great state of Alabama! It’s an old tradition in the south. The blackeye peas are for good luck & the greens symbolize folding money. The pork is for prosperity.
We have an odd collection of "good luck" foods on New Years. I also grew up in the south, so blackeye peas are on the menu along with pork & sauerkraut. My wife is of Japanese descent, and their thing is a sticky rice cake called mochi. Her mom spent most of NYE making several batches of it. It's an odd combination of foods, but it's gotten me this far.

Happy New Year all!

Strange evening for me.

The original plan was that we were going to have about a dozen people come over for dinner, then go down to the local corner bar to hear a really good band play. Only half of the people showed up. Dinner went well and we headed to the bar. When we got there, the place was packed. Like sardines. Everybody wanted to go back to our place.

So no band for me, but we managed to have a decent time doing karaoke, snacking, and drinking.

Unfortunately, one of our guests took a hankering to the aqua vit I had out and drank nearly the whole fifth. By midnight she's into continuous crying mode. 12:30 she's laying in my front yard, alternately bawling and screaming at us for trying to get her back in the house. After an hour or so of this, we get her in the house. We spend another hour trying to get her to go to the bedroom while she's still crying and apologizing for screaming at us. She finally passes out on the dining room floor.

Just as I get ready for bed, I get a call from work - our China facility was having issues.

I didn't get to bed until 4:embarrassed:0am.

At least she didn't puke on us.

My oldest ended up going to a friend's for NYE, so I had to pick her up a little after midnight. My wife turned on the TV a few minutes before midnight, but we use Hulu for live TV and for some reason, she started the show from the beginning, so we never saw the ball drop

I drank bourbon and was in bed at 10pm out cold. Woke up to my 4 year old vomiting. Went to Urgent care, she has the flu. Ended up at the ER with her 3 hours later with a 104 fever because she couldn't keep anything down. Woke up this morning and my 7 year old has it now. Hooray for 2020!
